Happy 5th of July!(Cause I'm a day late for the 4th)

Okay, so I didn't post yesterday, mainly cause we were out all day and by the time we got home we gave Addy a quick wash down then all went to bed.

We had a good 4th though, for Addy's 1st it wasn't too bad. We had a bbq at a friends house where we had some deeee-lish food and I made about 4 dozen cookies for the occasion. They had a small pool in their backyard and a bumbo for Addy to sit in. She did so well in it, I think we have to give in a get her one. dang it. Here she is in the pool, she's not very deep obviously, just enough to wet the toes and get her hands in.
From there we went down to the waterfront in St. Marys, to get seats for the fireworks show. We got there about 3 hours prior to the show to get seats, cause YES they were planning on most of the town showing up, AND they did. There were actually people already there when we got there. We had fun hanging out, we spread out a big blanket and Addy had fun playing and watching all the kids running around. They had entertainment for adults too. There was a band and a couple singers, they all did really well. They also had food stands and people walking around selling glow sticks, apparently our town goes all out for the holiday, we had no idea. As the sun started setting, my worst fear started to set in, that Addy was going to be upset by the loud noises and we'd have to promptly throw all of our belonging into the stroller and haul ass back to the car. She was already starting to get fussy and refused to take the bottle we brought for her, and she didn't want to nurse, because she doesn't like being covered up, and it was actually quite hot for her to be. I thought I wouldn't even know if she was scared of fireworks cause were weren't going to be able to stay for them to even start. She settled down though and soon enough the show started.

My heart started racing....
I prepared myself for screaming, for thrashing around, for inconsolable-ness
She did nothing. And I mean nothing, didn't even look at 'em. No crying, no fussing, nothing. How anti-climactic. It was a beautiful show though, and the rest of us thoroughly enjoyed it. At the end we packed up, headed to the car, then preceded to sit in the car for and hour and a half just trying to get home. Traffic is bad when the whole town gathers in one place and then tries to leave at the same time. She was so wiped out though that slept through sitting in traffic, woke up to shower then passed out at 12 and slept till 630! Woohoo for mommy getting a solid 6.5 hours of sleep.

Here are some pictures from waiting around before the fireworks

2(& a half) Month Update

Okay, so we were a little late in getting Addy in for her 2 month check up. Our bad. We were too busy traveling when she turned 2 months and TriCare won't pay for the appt if it's before her actual 2 months, at least that's what the nurse told me. I didn't mind waiting, mainly because 2 months is the start of vaccines, unless of course you get the HepB shot in the hospital, which she did not. If we could hold off even just for a little bit putting all those chemicals into my small little 2 month baby, I'll take it.

So we got there and the nurse weighed and measured Miss A, she's a healthy 12lb 8.5oz, and measures 24, maybe 24.5in. That's right, mother of the year here, can't remember exactly what the nurse said, and it gets worse, I can't remember what the measurement of what her head was. As long as the pedi doesn't say there is something wrong with it, I don't see the need of knowing the circumference of my daughter's head. All I can remember the nurse saying was what a perfectly shaped head she had. I'm so proud. =)) She also said I was going to have a very tall skinny baby/child on my hands, because at this point Addy is measuring off the charts on height for her age and weight. Darn it, I want a little chubster. Oh well, next baby I guess.

The pediatrician comes in and we chat a bit, and then we get on the topic of vaccines, I was going to tell him that I wanted to go with Dr. Sears alternate/delayed schedule. Which splits up the amount of shots they get to every month, so instead of 4 shots at 2 months and 4 months etc, she'll get 2 shots at 2, 3, 4, 5 and so on months. The pedi doesn't mind doing this schedule, but prefers his, which he told me is this:
No shots at all until 4 months(Yay!), No Rotavirus(which is an extremely potent vaccine for a virus that hasn't been around in a very long time), and No HepB till much much later. He also does alternating months, so she'll get shots at 4, 5, 6 months etc...
We like this pediatrician!

Developmentally she's doing all the norms, smiling, cooing, watching us walk across the room, she's also grabbing at toys and grabbing her feet, she's rolled over, both ways, belly to back and back to belly! She loves to stand up and if she's in a sitting position in our laps, she'll push on her legs to stand up, I know, I know, I have a genius, super strong baby! LOL

Now if she can just learn to sleep a solid 10 hours at night and give her mommy a full nights rest, we'd be good. =)
Here are her 2 month shots, which were taken on her actual 2 monthday and at my parents. She keep wiggling, so I couldn't get a good shot of her.

And a face shot(although this month's is kind of blurry)from last month and this month to see how much she's changed.

okay so you may not see too many big changes, but I do. Haha.

until next time...

Visiting Family

So we had such a great time visiting both of our families and letting Addy meet and get to know them. Although the travel was a little tough at first, she adapted well and has really grown up in the 2 weeks we've been gone.

We went up on a Thursday to be there for Jeff's little sister's wedding on Friday. It was such a beautiful ceremony, and I cried, multiple times. LOL. Here's a family picture from the wedding, Shell(Jeff's sister) requested that he as an usher wear his uniform, which I don't mind, cause he looks great in it. ;)

We then headed to my parents the next day. Addy's Baptism was that Sunday and then we spent the week with them. It was so much fun. We spent the week just relaxing and hanging out.

and can you tell these two are family? Love the faces they're both making!

We were really sad to leave, and can't wait for the family vacation in MN in August. We then headed down to visit with Jeff's family for the week. We had a great time during the week. Addy got to finally use her swimsuit when pawpaw set up a slip n' slide for Addy's cousins, and we put her in the water that accumulated at the bottom. Haha. She didn't seem too interested in it, which is odd since she loves taking baths. But the water was a bit chilly, so I think that threw her off.

We were sad to leave them too, but very much wanted to get home and get Addy back into her own routine. And Jeff and I desperately missed our bed.

We have Addy's 2 month appt tomorrow, 2 weeks late. LOL. I'll be updating more then, letting everyone know how she's coming along and all of the milestones she's reached.

talk to you then

Addy's Baptism

Wow, so it's been a long 2 weeks, and we have a lot to catch up on!

Addy got baptized in the same church and by the same priest that married Jeff and I. He's such an amazing guy, who really inspires all of his parishioners. Addy didn't do too well during the baptism, she was ready for a nap and irritated beyond belief. She also was so hot, she had on her plain white onesie, and undergarment that goes under her christening gown, and then her gown. She also had on white socks and white knit booties, all courtesy of her Godmother and Godfather. She looked gorgeous if only we could have gotten some pictures of her not screaming or looking extremely sad. It was a short ceremony that felt like an eternity. The only time she was silent was when he poured the first bit of water on her. You could barely hear Fr. Dan over her screaming. He was great about it though and kept trucking on.

Originally my sister and brother-in-law(her Godparents) were not supposed to be there, he was going to be in Alaska(where they just got stationed) already, and she was leaving shortly before the baptism, well God intervened and my sister's plane got delayed and rescheduled, so she was able to be there. I was so happy. Here are some pictures from the day.
