41 Wk 2 D

Natalie has officially been out a day longer than she was in. It's hard to believe that sometimes. It seems like she's been here forever and at the same time like she just got here. Addy celebrated this exciting milestone by pooping in the bath for the first time, while taking a bath with her cousin. Such a sense of humor my kid has.
(Addy is jealous of her cousin's awesome soaphawk)
That cutie is Miriam the soon to be big sister to the soon to be new baby Daniel(Maybe Daniel. Maybe Damien. Maybe Jerome, we all know how that goes). She is the sweetest, sassiest 2 year old that just makes you giggle at the sight of her big cheesy grin. Addy adores her and the two are having a great time hanging out while they can.

This is Miriam "holding" Natalie at Great Papa Stan's wake. She kept stroking her face and giving her kisses, proving that she is going to be a wonderful big sister come March.
Side note: Doesn't my sister look amazing for being just about 8 months pregnant?

Back to Addy and the incredible rate that she is growing.
This is me at 41 weeks pregnant
and this is Addy at 41 weeks of life

AH-mazing!

Daredevil

It's a walker Addy, you're doing it the wroooong way.

Climbed up there all by herself. We're in trouble. She's going to be like her dad and learn how to maneuver and prop her crib mattress just right to climb out of her crib.

Cheer Up

I haven't really been into spending quality time blogging the last couple of days, there are some things lying heavy on my heart and I just haven't been able to put together a quality post. Hopefully I'll find some peace soon and will be back to boring you with longer posts. =P
This picture does cheer me up a little though. Jeff was trying to get Addy down for a nap and she just wasn't having it. She wanted to play and was trying to "wake daddy up"

And I'm reposting this picture from yesterday's 365 post. When I was writing the post yesterday I asked Jeff what he thought I should put to caption the photo. He liked 'superman', so that's what I put. I wanted to put, 'me want braaaaaiiiinsssss' because I think she looks a little like a zombie. Yes I just called Miss A a zombie.

9 Month Stats

We took Miss A to the Pediatricians office today for her 9 Month Well Baby visit. She weighs 17lb(25th percentile)(I was right about not cracking 18lb) and measures 28 1/4in(75th percentile). Her head circumference is 17 1/4 in(50th percentile). That's all I'm writing for tonight. I'm off to spend the evening with my husband.

Here's a cute picture of Addy to make up for the short post

9 MonthDay!

To My-9-Month-Old-Wonder,

Today you are 3 months away from being technically known as a toddler. That makes me incredibly sad. Don't get me wrong, I love watching you grow and get very excited with all the things you will do and say and imagine in the coming years, but these past 9 months have gone by far to fast.

This month has gone by quickly. We celebrated your first Christmas with your grandparents and uncle. We celebrated your dad's birthday. You learned many a new tricks, learning how to feed yourself and stand on your own. You've become adventurous even taking your first step this month. You've learned how to let me know when you are unhappy with me, mostly when I take something fun away from you like my camera or cellphone.

Those teeth that I've been complaining about for months, finally arrived this month. You got your bottom two teeth within a week of each other. You still have just a few wisps of hair on your head, but I don't expect that to change for a while seeing as your dad and I both made it to 2 with very little hair. You're still a skinny mini like your dad. I'd be surprised if at your check up this month you crack 18 pounds.

You're the funnest little baby I know(despite the above picture where you were clearly done with mom taking pictures) and I am so lucky to get to spend everyday with you. Before we know it we'll be celebrating your 1st year of life. Before we know it we'll be sending you off to kindergarten. Before we know it your dad will be driving you to you first high school dance, no matter how uncool it may be. Before we know it you'll be off to college and then marrying your sweetheart and welcoming your first child. So for now I'm just going to rock you a little longer, and take in that baby smell a little more. I'm going to cherish your smiles and silly faces. Because before we know it you'll be grown. I love you Miss A. Slow down on the growing okay.

xoxo,
mom

I Have A Ninja Baby

Since Addy has become mobile, it's become almost impossible to get a clear shot of her. Most of my pictures come out like this:

or this:

She's so quick! Like a ninja!
The only way I can get a good still picture is if the child is fast asleep

Squishy Face

I ADORE this face. When Addy is being super silly and she knows it she squishes her face up, squints her eyes and juts out her chin. It cracks Jeff and I up everytime.

Baby Proofing

you know they're both thinking,
"if only I could get on the other side"

Baby proofing is annoying. It would probably be easier if I just stuck her in a helmet and rolled her in bubble wrap. And you think, they'll learn, they'll learn after they hit their head so many times. Addy is a glutton for punishment. My darling daughter has a huge red welt on her cheek today from falling onto my nursing stool, since the child would rather play with the coffee table, the magazine basket, my nursing stool, than all of her awesome toys. Someone bring on the bubble wrap!

Photo Friday

Yeah okay, I did a Wordless Wednesday and now Photo Friday, which is really just me posting a picture, call it lazy blogging, but my in-laws are arriving in about 10 minutes and after catching up I'm headed to bed.(Holy run-on sentence Batman!)

We're not so much a fan of peas anymore, which really gets my goat since I just made about 30oz and froze them. Instead of happily eating them, she turns her head back and forth trying to avoid the spoon and we end up with peas EVERYWHERE. This was after lunch today.

Because One Pacifier Is Never Enough

Whenever Addy sees an extra pacifier lying around(and she already has one in her mouth) she looks at it, at all angles, then spits out her current on and sticks the other in her mouth. Then she picks up the one she spit out, looks at it, spits our the current one and sticks the other in her mouth. And she does this over and over and over until Kahlua walks by or I get it and pull her attention elsewhere. My kid is too funny!

This is from today too, Jeff was getting Addy ready for her bath and thought he's be a funny daddy and leave her onesie around her noggin. I live in a house of goofballs.

31 is The New 10 Right?

Jeff is turning 31 this Saturday, and although he is spiraling into a pit of depression over the number, I find it the perfect time to find the inner youngin' and party like you did when you were a kid. So I've invited his friends over to make mini pizzas, play super mario bros, and eat cupcakes. Fun right? I'm thoroughly excited about Saturday night, he's feigning interest although I think deep down his inner 10 year old is bouncy with excitement!

Birthdays are important to me. Growing up my parents taught us that each birthday is important and a reminder that on that day God chose to give us life and continues to bless us with each year that passes. It's a time that everyone celebrates that you are alive and in their life. I hope to instill the same excitement about birthdays with Addy. I of course have started planning Addy's 1st birthday. People may think I'm crazy, but being from Hawaii, birthdays are a big deal. BIG. I would love to go with a traditional Hawaiian Luau, but have you seen the other adorable things they have for girls birthdays? I've considered doing a cupcake theme, a candyland theme, an Addy in ONE-derland theme. The possibilities are endless! I've tried to get Jeff to help me pick, but the ever pleasing husband that he is says it's up to me. Shooooot! No help there. I'll might just innie-minni-miny-mo it.

I'm decided to post yesterdays 365 picture, since it's so cute I want to show you before Sunday!

Cutest thing right? =)

8 MonthDay!

I figured I better get her 8 MonthDay posted before her 9 MonthDay in 10 days.

It's getting harder and harder to get good pictures of my mover and shaker. She is always on the go these days, crawling and pulling up on the furniture, she's starting cruising along the couch and coffee table too. She's thisclose to walking by herself. She can stand for longer and longer by herself. I consider her an unassisted stander at this point. She is on 3 meals of solids a day, and slowing transitioning to table food. And I do mean slooowly starting table food, so far the only table foods she's had are small pieces of banana and avocado and some organic baby puffs. I'm too terrified of her choking to try anything else yet. Although she is a pro at chewing, she still swallows an occasional chunk and gags and coughs. She refuses to try to say 'mama' or 'dada', but finds it hilarious when you say it over and over in hopes she'll repeat it. I think she can say it, she just doesn't want too. She is a mimicker, and will pound her hand on the table if you pound yours and will mimic your mouth movements when you make silly noises and try to make them herself, she just doesn't quite feel like talking yet I guess.

She's growing entirely too fast for my taste and in a few short months will be a walking talking one year old. And yes, I'm already planning the party! She has her 9 month well baby appt next week and we'll get to see how big she's gotten! This last picture is my favorite from her 8 Month shoot!

Side note: That blanket under Addy in the chair is my baby blanket. It's seen better days, but I'd like to sew it back up and use it for her and our other children.
